Novo Nordisk partners with Amazon Web Services to boost AI-driven drug discovery, opens London hub

Novo Nordisk announced a partnership with Amazon Web Services aimed at using artificial intelligence to speed up the discovery of new medicines. The collaboration will see AWS become Novo Nordisk's preferred cloud and AI provider.

The two companies will establish an innovation hub within Novo Nordisk's existing London facility, where scientists will work together on AI tools that can identify drug targets and design therapies. Services such as Amazon Bio Discovery and Amazon Bedrock will be made available to Novo's research teams.

Novo Nordisk says the partnership has already cut clinical documentation time and increased productivity for its 25,000 employees. The alliance is presented as a step toward more efficient development of treatments for serious chronic diseases.
