AAAS elects oncology leaders Guise and Watowich, highlight mentorship for early-career researchers

Theresa A. Guise, MD, FASBMR, and Stephanie S. Watowich, PhD, have been elected as fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). The fellowship recognizes scientists who have made notable contributions to science and society.

The AAAS selects fellows each year through a vote of its Council, and the new fellows are honored at a formal Fellows Forum.

Both Guise and Watowich said that mentorship played a pivotal role in their own careers, and they now serve as mentors to help guide the next generation of oncology investigators.
