BioNTech trims full-year COVID-19 vaccine sales outlook by up to 20% amid weak demand

BioNTech announced it is lowering its full-year sales guidance for its COVID-19 vaccine.

The company cut the midpoint of its outlook by almost 20%, moving the range to €1.6-1.9 billion from the prior €2-2.3 billion.

The revision reflects weaker demand for the vaccine in all markets, with especially sharp pressure in Germany, its home market.

If the new midpoint is reached, sales would fall about 40% from last year’s €2.9 billion, marking the lowest annual revenue since 2020.
