Processa Pharma acquires Vidya Therapeutics, gaining oral BTK inhibitor VT-7208

Jul 29, 2026·read at Fierce Biotech ↗DealPositive

Processa Pharmaceuticals announced an all‑stock acquisition of Vidya Therapeutics, a Florida biotech developing an oral BTK inhibitor called VT‑7208.

VT‑7208 is being positioned as a next‑generation BTK inhibitor intended to address efficacy and safety issues seen with earlier programs. Vidya has already begun Phase 1 trials of the drug in food allergy, chronic spontaneous urticaria and relapsing multiple sclerosis.

Under Processa’s ownership, Phase 2 studies in food allergy and chronic spontaneous urticaria are planned for later this year, with a mid‑stage multiple sclerosis trial slated for the first half of 2027. Readouts are expected through 2028.

To fund the expanded clinical program, Processa is raising $200 million through a private placement backed by investors such as Bain Capital Life Sciences, Janus Henderson and RA Capital Management.
