Argenx to buy Forte Biosciences for up to $2.2 billion, adding experimental CD122 drug FB102

Jul 27, 2026·read at BioPharma Dive ↗DealPositive

Argenx announced it will acquire Forte Biosciences in a transaction valued at up to $2.2 billion.

The purchase price is set at $77 per Forte share, roughly a 41% premium to the previous closing price.

The deal gives Argenx control of Forte’s experimental candidate FB102, which targets the CD122 protein and could be used for a variety of immune‑mediated conditions.

The acquisition is expected to close in the third quarter and fits Argenx’s strategy to broaden its immunology portfolio, building on the success of its marketed drug Vyvga and its market value exceeding $56 billion.
