FDA to discontinue pilot program aimed at preventing drug production issues

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced it will end a pilot program that was created to help drug manufacturers address production problems before they arise.

The initiative, which ran for three years, saw limited participation from companies, with only a few taking advantage of the resources offered.

The FDA said the pilot will be formally concluded in April 2027, and it will no longer be available as a tool for proactive manufacturing issue management.
