Newborn vitamin K refusal linked to bleeding risk as Ebola center workers strike over unpaid wages

The piece explained that vitamin K helps the blood clot properly, and without the shot, some babies may develop hemorrhagic complications that require urgent medical attention.

In the same edition, the newsletter reported that dozens of health‑care workers at an Ebola treatment center in the Democratic Republic of Congo have gone on strike, citing unpaid salaries and bonuses as the main grievance.

The report also mentioned that a U.S. citizen who was in the region tested positive for Ebola and was transferred to Germany for treatment as the outbreak continues to grow.
