Job Description
The OTC (Order-to-Cash) Business Lead (Regional Process Lead – Americas) is accountable for the operational ownership, transformation, and ongoing performance of the Order-to-Cash process across the Americas region (US, Canada, LATAM), with extended support to Australasia markets.
This role operates as the regional authority for OTC process execution and delivery, combining hands-on operational leadership with Global Process Lead (GPL) governance accountability. The focus is on ensuring consistent execution of global standards, successful delivery of SAP programs, and seamless new product launch readiness and execution.

Key Responsibilities
1. Regional OTC Operational Process Ownership
• Own the day-to-day performance and execution of OTC processes across:
• US, Canada, LATAM markets
• Oversee key process areas:
• Customer Master Data
• Order Management & Fulfilment
• Pricing & Contract execution
• Billing & Invoicing
• Cash Application
• Credit & Collections
• Ensure consistent adherence to global OTC process standards and controls
• Act as the primary escalation point for operational issues and performance gaps
2. SAP Programme Delivery & Process Integration
• Lead the business execution of SAP S/4HANA programs across the region:
• Upgrades, releases, and enhancements
• Testing coordination and business validation
• Cutover planning and execution
• Ensure business readiness including:
• Data readiness
• Process alignment
• User adoption
• Drive post-go-live stabilization, ensuring minimal disruption to operations
3. New Product Launch (NPI) Execution
• Own OTC readiness for new product introductions across the region, including:
• Customer and pricing setup
• Order-to-bill readiness
• Credit and compliance alignment
• Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure:
• Launch timelines are met
• No disruption to order capture, billing, or cash processes
• Identify and proactively resolve risks impacting launch execution or revenue realization
4. Regional GPL Governance & Change Control
• Act as the regional GPL authority for OTC, ensuring all changes align to global standards
• Provide formal decision support on change requests and enhancements, including:
• Validation of business need and process alignment
• Prevention of unnecessary customization
• Operate within global governance processes, ensuring:
• Only value-driven, compliant changes are approved
• Act as a control gate for regional deviations, maintaining process integrity
5. Process Standardization & Operational Simplification
• Drive elimination of:
• Local workarounds
• Manual processes
• Non-standard practices across markets
• Ensure consistent process execution across:
• US vs Canada vs LATAM complexity
• Balance global standardization with pragmatic regional requirements
6. Performance Management & Operational Metrics
• Own and track regional OTC KPIs, including:
• Cash collection / DSO
• Order cycle time
• Invoice accuracy
• Dispute volumes and resolution time
• Drive corrective actions to address:
• Service failures
• Revenue leakage
• Process inefficiencies
• Ensure visibility and transparency of performance to leadership
7. Cross-Functional & Regional Leadership
• Lead coordination across:
• Commercial teams
• Finance and Credit
• Supply Chain and Logistics
• Shared Services and BPO partners
• Act as the regional business lead for OTC in all programs and operational forums
• Support Australasia markets by:
• Providing process expertise in time zone
• Supporting escalation and transformation alignment
8. Change Execution & Adoption
• Drive operational adoption of new processes and systems, including:
• Training alignment
• Stakeholder engagement
• Change readiness activities
• Ensure changes are fully embedded into operations, not just deployed
• Identify and mitigate resistance across regional teams
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and Twelve Experience OR Masters' Degree and Ten Experience OR PhD and Eight Years' Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• 10+ years’ experience in Order-to-Cash, Finance Operations, or Commercial Operations
• Proven experience managing regional operations across Americas markets
• Strong track record delivering SAP transformation programs (S/4HANA preferred)
• Experience supporting product launches or commercial readiness activities
• Experience in regulated industries (pharma / life sciences) preferred
• Strong operational process leadership (execution-focused)
• Deep expertise in end-to-end OTC processes and dependencies
• Ability to operate across multiple markets and complexity levels
• Strong stakeholder management and escalation handling
• Data-driven mindset with a focus on performance improvement and outcomes

The salary range for this position is: $210,375.00 - $272,250.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
