Job Title: Health Economics Manager Location: Pancras Square, London Competitive salary and benefits

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Health Economics Manager to lead the development and delivery of health economic strategies and evidence that demonstrate the value of innovative therapies and support successful patient access across the UK and Ireland. This role will play a critical part in shaping market access strategies, developing economic models and providing expert health economics input for health technology assessment (HTA) submissions and throughout the product lifecycle. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams including Market Access, Medical Affairs, Global Value & Access, HEOR, and external stakeholders to ensure patients gain timely access to life-changing medicines.

Key Responsibilities Health Economics Leadership

• Lead health economics deliverables and inputs into payer evidence generation activities.

• Develop and deliver high-quality HTA submissions for UK and Irish agencies, including NICE, SMC, AWMSG, and NCPE.

• Provide expert guidance on economic modelling methodologies and evidence generation strategies.

• Support pricing, reimbursement, and market access strategies through robust health economic analyses.

• Represent the organisation at HTA committee meetings, scientific advice sessions, and other external forums.

• Partner with global teams to ensure models and evidence packages meet local market requirements.

• Act as a key technical expert and trusted advisor for internal stakeholders.

Early Modelling & Evidence Generation

• Develop early-stage cost-effectiveness models to assess access opportunities and identify key value drivers.

• Identify evidence gaps and inform data generation strategies.

• Support forecasting, pricing, and launch planning through economic analyses.

• Contribute to the development of value propositions, budget impact models, and payer-facing tools.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify innovative approaches in health economics and outcomes research.

HTA Submissions & Local Deliverables

• Lead, oversee, and quality assure the development of: • Cost-effectiveness models

• Budget impact models

• Local adaptations

• Burden of illness studies

• Develop responses to technical questions from HTA agencies and assessors.

• Manage external consultants and vendors delivering health economic projects.

• Produce scientific publications, reports, presentations, manuscripts, and conference materials.

• Apply advanced quantitative analysis to support value demonstration and commercialization activities.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Engage confidently with HTA bodies, healthcare decision-makers, and academic experts.

• Collaborate with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Government Affairs, and Global Value & Access colleagues to ensure aligned access strategies.

Project & Compliance Management

• Ensure all activities comply with internal governance, industry regulations, and the ABPI Code of Practice.

• Deliver projects on time and within budget.

• Maintain high standards of quality assurance across all health economics deliverables.

Skills & Experience Essential

• Postgraduate degree (or equivalent experience) in Health Economics, HEOR, Public Health, Economics, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 3 years' experience in Health Economics, HEOR, Market Access, or a closely related field.

• Experience working within the NHS, pharmaceutical industry, consultancy, or healthcare environment.

• Strong knowledge of UK and Ireland HTA processes and methodologies, including NICE, SMC, AWMSG, and NCPE.

• Expertise in health economic modelling, cost-effectiveness analysis, and payer evidence generation.

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.

• Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and operate within complex organisations.

• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

• Strong project management and problem-solving capabilities.

Desirable

• Degree in Economics, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.

• Experience in rare diseases and orphan medicines.

• Launch experience within pharmaceutical or biotech environments.

• Publications or presentations at recognised HEOR forums (e.g., ISPOR).

• Knowledge of advanced evidence synthesis techniques, including indirect treatment comparisons and network meta-analysis.

• Experience using modelling and statistical software such as R, SAS, Stata, TreeAge, or similar tools.

• Experience applying AI technologies to support health economics modelling or HTA development.
