SUMMARY The Senior Medical Affairs Scientist (SrMAS) in VMG is a scientific expert dedicated to a market not integrated into the I4G model. Reporting into the VMG structure, the MAS covers all assets within a Category in their assigned geography, performing a full though primarily reactive medical affairs function. Their work is characterized by agility, efficiency, and a strong reliance on technology to maximize impact with limited resources. MAS colleagues are expected to contribute to above-market VMG initiatives, while maintaining primary focus on their local market.

RESPONSABILITIES: In-market responsibilities

• Serve as the primary medical affairs contact for the Pfizer product Category in the assigned market(s).

• Engage with HCPs, KOLs, authorities, and scientific stakeholders as a peer, fostering trust and credibility in all interactions.

• Build and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals, regulatory authorities, and commercial partners, ensuring the needs of the market are met within the VMG framework.

• Generate, document, synthesize, and compliantly share actionable medical insights from external engagements, scientific exchange, and stakeholder feedback.

• Using a selective and prioritized approach, effectively disseminate key scientific insights using omnichannel and digital platforms, ensuring relevant information reaches stakeholders in a timely and accessible manner.

• Ensure insights are communicated effectively to VMG medical leadership, cross-functional teams, and relevant internal stakeholders to inform strategy, tactics, and operational plans.

• Operate within a resource-constrained environment, using technology and process optimization to deliver medical support efficiently.

• Champion the VMG mindset by continuously seeking ways to streamline workflows, automate routine tasks, and leverage digital tools for insight generation and stakeholder engagement.

• Provide reactive support for local clinical trials where appropriate, collaborating with cluster Therapeutic Area Specialists and other internal stakeholders in line with VMG principles.

Collaborative working within VMG

• Serve as a scientific point of contact for assigned Category in-country, collaborating with cluster Therapeutic Area Specialists and other internal stakeholders in line with VMG principles.

• Inform and contribute to the execution of VMG medical plans in alignment with global and International goals.

• Contribute to VMG-wide projects and initiatives, sharing best practices and supporting harmonization of medical affairs activities across markets.

• Collaborate with above-market VMG colleagues to address cross-geography challenges and support the evolution of the VMG operating model.

Operational Effectiveness & Compliance

• Uphold the highest ethical standards, scientific integrity, and compliance in all activities.

• Take responsibility for own learning, ensuring your skills and knowledge are up to date.

• Support audit readiness, pharmacovigilance, and regulatory reporting as required by VMG and global standards.

• Demonstrates autonomy, decisiveness and judgement necessary for independent decision-making.

• Well-connected and respected in therapeutic areas.

• Substantially contributes to VMG initiatives and processes.

• Demonstrates a mature understanding of local and international regulations, ability to make sound judgements on complex projects and to advise more junior colleagues or colleagues from other areas.

• Shows leadership and ability to guide, assist and mentor others.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Advanced healthcare or scientific degree coupled with deep pharmaceutical experience and knowledge. A medical degree (MD) or equivalent and board certification, or Category-related PhD and post-doctoral experience is desirable.

• Robust scientific and medical experience, including clinical or research experience.

• Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, local healthcare systems, and regulatory environments.

• Demonstrated ability to analyze medical data and generate insights.

• Fluent business and medical English (additional languages as required by market).

• Significant professional experience in relevant therapeutic area. Track record of successful engagement with senior KOLs.

• Leadership experience (mentoring, coaching, project management).

• Recognized as an expert and thought leader internally and externally.

• Experience in international, matrix organizations.
