Introduction to the Role Are you ready to make secure, cloud-native software delivery the preferred choice for engineering teams? As Product Manager, Golden Paths & Developer Platform, you will define the vision, strategy, roadmap, and adoption of the products that standardize how software is built, secured, and delivered at enterprise scale.

You will own a portfolio that includes Golden Pipelines, Policy as Code, the Internal Developer Portal, self-service engineering capabilities, repository and project provisioning, the Golden Path Factory, platform integrations, and developer experience initiatives.

Working closely with Platform Engineering, Engineering Coaches, Enterprise Architecture, Application Security, Compliance, and Software Engineering teams, you will translate user needs, platform data, and emerging practices into intuitive, reusable capabilities. Your work will reduce friction, improve developer productivity and security, and help teams deliver with greater speed and confidence.

This role requires strong technical product knowledge, but it is not a hands-on engineering or architecture position. You will own product direction, priorities, outcomes, and adoption, partnering with engineers who own technical design and implementation.

Accountabilities

• Product Strategy and Roadmap: Define and own the long-term strategy and roadmap for the Golden Paths and Developer Platform portfolio. Establish a scalable vision for secure, standardized, cloud-native software delivery and prioritize Golden Paths, such as .NET, Java, Python, serverless, and containers, based on engineering demand and organizational priorities.

• Platform Product Ownership: Own and prioritize the product backlog across enhancements, integrations, lifecycle management, technical debt, policy improvements, developer experience, and modernization. Develop clear epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria while maintaining ownership of product direction and outcomes.

• Golden Paths and Developer Experience: Define the Golden Path strategy and reduce friction across onboarding, repository creation, pipeline provisioning, artifact consumption, security remediation, and software delivery. Evolve the Internal Developer Portal as the central engineering experience and promote reusable capabilities that reduce duplication and cognitive load.

• Policy as Code and DevSecOps: Define the product strategy for Policy as Code and secure-by-default delivery. Collaborate with security, architecture, compliance, and engineering teams to embed organizational standards into automated workflows rather than relying on manual processes.

• Stakeholder Leadership: Act as the primary product interface across Platform Engineering, Engineering Coaches, Enterprise Architecture, Application Security, Compliance, and Software Engineering. Build strong relationships, understand engineering challenges, align stakeholders, and prioritize platform investments.

• Adoption and Change Enablement: Drive platform adoption as a primary measure of product success. Partner with Engineering Coaches to promote capabilities through demonstrations, documentation, communities of practice, and onboarding initiatives. Use feedback and platform data to improve usability and engagement.

• AI and Innovation: Identify opportunities to integrate AI into developer workflows, Golden Paths, Policy as Code, and the Internal Developer Portal. Evaluate AI and other emerging capabilities that can improve platform usability, security remediation, software delivery, and engineering productivity.

• Platform Observability and Continuous Improvement: Define and monitor meaningful product and engineering metrics. Use telemetry and user feedback to improve Golden Pipeline adoption, self-service utilization, onboarding, reliability, policy compliance, repository health, engineering productivity, and user satisfaction. Make prioritization decisions based on measurable outcomes rather than assumptions.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Proven Product Management experience within a technical platform, developer platform, DevOps, cloud engineering, or comparable technology environment.

• Strong understanding of Platform Engineering, Internal Developer Platforms, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and modern software-delivery practices.

• Strong understanding of developer experience principles and self-service platform design.

• Experience defining product strategies and roadmaps, managing backlogs, and prioritizing capabilities using business value, technical complexity, and user impact.

• Experience working with highly technical engineering teams and translating business and user needs into clear product capabilities.

• Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, negotiation, and communication skills.

• Experience using Agile methodologies to manage product delivery.

• Analytical mindset, with experience defining performance indicators and using product data to guide decisions.

• Sufficient technical fluency to engage engineering, architecture, security, and compliance teams without needing to personally design or implement the underlying solutions.

• Familiarity with enterprise engineering ecosystems and several of the following: • GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, or comparable source-control and CI/CD platforms

• GitHub Copilot or comparable AI-enabled development tools

• Jira and Confluence

• SonarQube or comparable code-quality platforms

• JFrog Artifactory, JFrog Xray, or comparable artifact-management platforms

• Jenkins or comparable CI/CD technologies

• AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform

• Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform or CloudFormation

• Policy as Code concepts

• Internal Developer Portals, such as Backstage

• Observability platforms and engineering analytics

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Experience with Golden Paths, software-engineering templates, or reusable delivery patterns.

• Experience building or managing Internal Developer Platforms.

• Knowledge of software supply-chain security, including SLSA, software bills of materials, artifact signing, and dependency management.

• Experience working in regulated environments, such as GxP or other compliance-driven industries.

• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and Platform Engineering operating models.

• Experience working with engineering communities of practice.

• Experience driving enterprise-wide technology-adoption initiatives.

What Success Looks Like

• Growth in Golden Path adoption across engineering teams.

• Increased use of standardized Golden Pipelines across repositories.

• Adoption of Policy as Code across supported repositories.

• Increased utilization of the Internal Developer Portal and self-service capabilities.

• Reduced developer onboarding time.

• Reduced manual engineering activity through automation.

• Improved deployment frequency and lead time for changes.

• Improved developer experience and satisfaction.

• Increased compliance with engineering standards and security policies.

• Fewer support requests through improved self-service experiences.

• Measurable improvements in engineering productivity and software-delivery efficiency.

• Consistent delivery of roadmap commitments with strong stakeholder satisfaction.
