As Moderna continues its global growth, our world-class MESH (Moderna Enterprise Solutions Hub) in Warsaw plays a critical role in supporting international Finance, Pharmacovigilance, and HR operations. Reporting to the Indirect Tax Senior Manager, you will help deliver accurate, timely, and compliant indirect tax reporting across multiple international jurisdictions while partnering with colleagues across the business to strengthen our global tax operations.

Here's What You'll Do: On Operational Excellence

• Support VAT reporting compliance for assigned international markets under the direction of the Indirect Tax Senior Manager, ensuring all internal and external filing deadlines are met.

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, and annual VAT returns, together with other indirect tax filings including sales listings, Intrastat, and other statutory reporting requirements, using indirect tax return preparation tools.

• Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on indirect tax matters, helping ensure transactions are processed accurately and posted appropriately in accordance with local VAT legislation.

• Perform transactional reviews, checks, and controls to validate that VAT transactions comply with applicable tax rules and reporting requirements.

• Monitor VAT reconciliations and reporting processes, supporting robust internal controls and high standards of data accuracy across indirect tax activities.

• Share regular updates with key stakeholders regarding indirect tax matters, including the potential impact of new or changing legislation on Moderna's compliance obligations and business operations.

• Support additional tax and finance projects as required, acting as a trusted subject matter resource who can adapt quickly to changing priorities, evolving regulations, and new business requirements.

• Contribute to a culture focused on operational excellence, balancing efficiency, effectiveness, strong controls, and regulatory compliance while continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes that support Moderna's future growth.

On People and Stakeholder Management

• Build strong working relationships with commercial and functional teams across the organization, providing high-quality VAT guidance and support across compliance activities, reviews, and enquiries.

• Partner closely with the Indirect Tax Senior Manager, the wider International Tax team, and MESH leadership to help ensure ongoing compliance with global indirect tax requirements.

• Respond to enquiries from internal stakeholders regarding VAT procedures and reporting requirements.

• Develop a deep understanding of key business processes and commercial objectives by working collaboratively across the organization, enabling proactive and practical tax support.

• Deliver outstanding customer service through accurate, timely, and insightful financial and tax information while contributing to a highly collaborative team environment.

• Support the broader International Tax function in maintaining compliant, scalable, and efficient VAT reporting processes across jurisdictions supported by the MESH organization.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline required

• In progress of tax accreditation, a plus

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

• 2-4+ years of related experience in indirect taxes is required; public accounting experience, pharma/biotech company

• Strong tax technical skills including expertise in VAT

• Experience with financial systems including SAP, Blackline and Microsoft Suite of products

• Strong work ethic, self-motivated, willing to “Roll-up your sleeves” to drive and deliver results, meet deadlines and improve processes

• Strong analytical skills and pays attention to detail

• Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work collaboratively across functional teams

• Excellent English skills, both written and verbal. Additional languages is a plus
