Job Title: Senior Product Manager – Enterprise DevOps Platforms GCL: E
Introduction to role:
Are you ready to build and scale a comprehensive DevOps infrastructure that 20,000–30,000 users depend on to move life-changing science to patients faster! This is your opportunity to set the strategy for tools and services that power developer productivity, accelerate delivery, and raise the quality of decision-making across the company. You will feel the sponsorship behind the mission and see the impact of your choices recognized at the highest levels. You will lead with both vision and execution—bridging business priorities, user experience, engineering capability, oversight, and organizational standards to build a cohesive platform backbone. Working with guides in software development, cybersecurity, system build, and data, you will align Jira, Confluence, GitHub, GitHub Copilot and adjacent services into a secure, scalable, AI-enabled ecosystem. Do you thrive on connecting strategic direction with pragmatic delivery to unlock productivity at scale?
Accountabilities:
• Portfolio Product Strategy and Vision: Define and drive the product strategy, vision, and roadmap across the enterprise DevOps platform portfolio, aligning business priorities, engineering needs, platform evolution, and enterprise architecture standards to deliver measurable outcomes.
• Team Leadership and Development: Lead and develop Product Owners across multiple products; set direction, clarify accountabilities, set objectives, coach, handle performance, and build a high-performing, outcome-focused culture.
• Connected Platform Ecosystem: Manage Jira, Confluence, GitHub, GitHub Copilot and related DevOps services as an integrated ecosystem, not isolated tools; align roadmaps, priorities, and service improvements to support a coherent enterprise strategy.
• Portfolio Prioritization and Direction: Run portfolio-level prioritization that balances business value, user needs, adoption, operational sustainability, security, compliance, and long-term platform health; translate strategy into clear direction and support Product Owners in delivering agreed outcomes.
• Enterprise-Scale Adoption: Drive large-scale adoption and effective usage across 20,000–30,000 users; remove barriers, improve usability and accessibility, and partner with engineering coaches, platform teams, and business collaborators to increase engagement and realized value.
• Ensure platforms are delivered as scalable, supportable, and maintainable enterprise-grade services. Align these services with policies, governance, and the overall organizational system build. Promote standardization, consolidation, and simplification to reduce fragmentation.
• Security by Build and Governance: Embed security-by-design, DevSecOps practices, least privilege principles, and regulatory expectations across the portfolio; ensure secure defaults and appropriate governance in partnership with engineering, security, architecture, and compliance.
• Senior Collaborator Engagement and Influence: Engage senior leaders across business and technology to understand priorities, reconcile differing needs, and influence decisions; act as a senior extension business, product, engineering, and governance.
Essential Skills/Experience:
• The successful candidate will demonstrate significant experience in a product management leadership role such as Senior Product Manager, Lead Product Manager, Product Lead, or a similar position within a technical, platform, or enterprise tooling environment.
• They will bring strong expertise in DevOps, DevSecOps, CI/CD, developer workflows, and enterprise platform product management, together with experience operating across a sophisticated collaborator environment.
• They will also have confirmed experience in formal people management, including leading, coaching, and developing Product Owners or product professionals within a sophisticated enterprise environment.
• The role requires proven experience in leading teams across various products or services, with the ability to build clarity, alignment, and consistency in delivery and product practices.
• Candidates should have a consistent track record of leading central initiatives, influencing across departments, and delivering outcomes in environments where challenges span multiple teams or functional areas. They should be comfortable operating independently, crafting direction, and combining critical thinking with pragmatic execution.
• Experience in portfolio-level product management is critical, including balancing short-term delivery priorities with long-term strategic value across multiple offerings or solutions.
• This position demands demonstrated capability to drive adoption across large user populations, ideally in environments with 10,000+ users. It also requires improving effective usage through product thinking, change enablement, and engaging collaborators.
• Strong communication, leadership, and influencing skills are critical. If you are able to independently persuade internal and external collaborators, often where priorities conflict, and build alignment around roadmap direction, investment decisions, and product outcomes.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
• Experience with enterprise platforms and tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitHub, GitHub Actions, GitHub Copilot, Jenkins, SonarQube, and Artifactory would be valuable.
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, is desirable.
• Experience working in a regulated environment, including GxP, would be helpful.
• Experience leading AI-enabled product initiatives or defining AI strategy within enterprise platforms would be advantageous.
