DUTIES:
• Develop & deploy data analytics solutions across manufacturing platforms and products at Vertex and at partner organizations.
• Enable the development of novel analytical capabilities, by providing frameworks for the high-level approach and establishing robust processes for technical and statistical implementation.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the approach is tailored to the specific business needs and question.
• Work closely with process and PAT engineers in MS&T to develop multivariate data analyses, machine learning models, mechanistic models, and simulations for characterization of processes at multiple scales.
• Work closely with development partners to pioneer new approaches to monitoring and control, including advanced data analytics, multivariate modeling, and machine learning driven predictive algorithms.
• Collaborate with process engineers in digital twin initiatives as a subject matter expert to ensure modeling projects meet the needs of MS&T.
• Collaborate effectively within a matrix environment, with process engineers across various scientific disciplines and departments to develop a strategy and appropriate goals for data science work.
• Author, review, and approve technical documentation.
• Assist with troubleshooting pharmaceutical manufacturing operations and online measurements in commercial manufacturing.
• Assist with and lead resolution of quality investigations.
• Support the development of tools and standards for department functions, including process monitoring dashboards and standardized methodologies for modeling and reporting.
• Drive best practices for trend analysis and continuous process improvement.

REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Process Engineering Senior Specialist-related occupation.
Position requires demonstrable experience in the following:
• Comprehensive understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) within regulated pharmaceutical environments.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, including senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders, through presentations and reports.
• Expertise in applying statistical and computational methods for process characterization, advanced data analysis, predictive modeling, and automated reporting, including integration with automation platforms.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing complex projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Proficiency in monitoring process performance, developing control strategies, conducting root cause analyses, and supporting investigations to maintain compliance and optimize operations.
• Strong capability in advanced data modeling and analytical techniques to extract insights and drive initiatives that foster innovation and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
• Experience may be gained during graduate program. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Rate of Pay: $114088.00 - $151200.00

Pay Range: $100,800 - $151,200 Disclosure Statement: The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
