Position Summary
The RNA Process development team is seeking an Associate Scientist to support an integrated RNA Pilot Manufacturing operation. This role will be a part of a team responsible for delivering high-quality material with agility and speed across early and late-stage development. The Associate scientist will be accountable for operating in a phase-appropriate manufacturing model that enables rapid execution while maintaining quality, compliance, safety, and technical rigor. This role requires experience in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced, science-driven setting.
The Associate Scientist will partner closely with CMC functions including Analytical Development and Process Development to ensure seamless material delivery, technical readiness, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Support and execute RNA manufacturing operations supporting nonGMP manufacturing activities.
• Work in an agile development manufacturing model in the RNA space capable of rapidly delivering material for various program needs.
• Ensure manufacturing operations are executed in a phase-appropriate manner, balancing speed, compliance, scientific rigor, and operational discipline.
• Partner with analytical testing laboratories to ensure sample submission, investigation support, and timely release of material.
• Enable technical problem-solving during manufacturing campaigns, including real-time escalation, root-cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain systems for tracking process performance using ELN workflows and multivariate data analysis tools
• Ensure learnings from manufacturing activities are captured, communicated, and incorporated into future strategies.
Qualifications & Experience
• Degree in Bio/Chemical Engineering, Bio/Chemistry, or related field • BS with 2-4+ years’ experience in science related disciplines
• MS with 1-2+ years’ experience in science related disciplines
• Experience in process unit operations relevant to RNA manufacturing including bioreactors, chromatography, and filtration.
• Knowledge and understanding of technology transfer from PD to the pilot facility and from the pilot facility to GMP manufacturing.
• Strong track record of utilizing standardized operations, KPI management, and production documentation systems.
• Experience with compiling and interpreting RNA analytics and biophysical characterization techniques for RNA such as HPLC, CE, ELISAs, and cell-based assays.
• Prior management and mentorship experience; passion for people management and development
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a highly dynamic, fast-paced, matrixed environment with rapidly evolving priorities.
• Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset, driving efficiencies, process improvements across diverse initiatives.

Compensation Overview:
Cambridge - MA - US: $94,400 - $114,392
The starting pay range(s) listed above is for full-time employees (FTE). You may also be eligible for additional discretionary incentive cash and stock opportunities. We determine starting pay thoughtfully – carefully considering the nature of the role, required skills, work location, schedule and the knowledge and experience you bring. Final compensation is guided by pay equity principles and applicable employment laws. Compensation programs are reviewed on an ongoing basis and may be adjusted over time to reflect evolving market factors, and individual, team or Company performance.

U.S.-based exempt employees are eligible for Flexible Time Off (FTO), which provides paid time off without a set accrual limit, subject to manager approval, along with 11 paid company holidays each year.
Non-exempt employees, RayzeBio employees, and employees located in Puerto Rico receive 160 hours of paid vacation annually for new hires (subject to manager approval), 11 paid company holidays, and 3 optional holidays.
Depending on eligibility, employees may also have access to additional time-off benefits, including paid sick leave, up to two paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, and leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, or military needs. Eligible employees also enjoy an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
