As Senior Manager, Health Equity, you will play a pivotal role in implementing our Health Equity strategy and developing programmes aligned with our disease area priorities that bridge healthcare gaps for underserved patients; promote healthier behaviours,enabling early disease detection and improving access to care.
This role is critical in bringing to life how AstraZeneca is contributing to better, more equitable health outcomes for societies across the globe. This role requires a self-starter who is experienced in and engergised by public private partnerships and implementing high-quality programmes through hands-on delivery at Global and country level. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in public health, government affairs, healthcare policy, and strategic programme management, with a passion for advancing health equity within the pharmaceutical industry.
Key responsibilities:
• Support implementation of health equity programmes across AstraZeneca's disease area priorities beginning with lung health equity in diverse geographies, in line with AstraZeneca’s health equity strategy, collaborating with global and local partners and AstraZeneca country teams to deliver against shared objectives.
• Manage internal and external partners to ensure timely delivery of key activities.
• Support the delivery of external expert consultations including patient advocacy and clinical leaders, working in close partnership with Legal, Compliance and country teams to ensure compliant, high-quality external engagement.
• Support development of global policy evidence frameworks related to AstraZeneca’s health equity programmes and enable countries to adopt outcome-focused health equity impact metrics across programmes.
• Support elevation of AstraZeneca’s health equity programmes internally and externally through coordinated multi‑channel communications, working in partnership with Global Corporate Affairs colleagues.
Your ability to establish strong, trusted partnerships with a variety of external and internal stakeholders and manage competing priorities, often to tight and competing deadlines, will be key to success.
You will have knowledge of how health systems work and how healthcare is delivered and will be excited to apply your insights to the role.

Global Corporate Affairs including Global Policy, Advocacy and Health Equity and Corporate Communications Regional and in-market Corporate Affairs teams, Medical, Commercial, Market Access.
External – some examples of external contacts are:
Public health experts, patient advocacy organisations, NGOs and philanthropic organisations.
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field is required.
Experience
• Proven experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector in an in-house or agency role with a focus on reducing health disparities, improving access to care, government engagement and/or health policies.
• Experience of delivering successful, multi-partner, multi-year projects and strategies across diverse markets (e.g. high income, LMIC) with demonstrable patient impact and outcomes
• Understanding of diverse healthcare systems and how to drive healthcare policy change at country-level.
• Good understanding of healthcare industry, including market access, and policy development. Disease/Therapy Area experience is a strong plus.
Skills and competencies
• Passion for advancing health equity and healthcare policy change to improve patient outcomes.
• Strong project management experience, including planning, execution, and stakeholder management in a matrix environment .
• Expertise in strategic planning processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to analyse complex data and use insights to inform decision-making and programme development.
• Demonstrated ability in delivering executive-level presentations and materials to a high professional standard.
• International experience, with knowledge of and experience of working across geographic and cultural boundaries, including cultural sensitivity and effectiveness in virtual team.
• Self-starting, independent, entrepreneurial attitude – a smart risk-taker who thrives on new challenges and on seeing things through to completion.
• Management of budgets and external agency teams.
In Office Requirement
When we put unexpected teams in the same room, we unleash bold thinking with the power to inspire life-changing medicines. In-person working gives us the platform we need to connect, work at pace and challenge perceptions. That’s why we work, on average, a minimum of three days per week from the office. But that doesn’t mean we’re not flexible. We balance the expectation of being in the office while respecting individual flexibility.
