The GBO Advanced Capabilities COE Manager – Data Engineering will play a critical role in establishing the data engineering backbone required to enable advanced analytics, scenario-based decision support, and digital capabilities across GBO. This role will help design and operationalize robust, scalable, and governed data pipelines that bring together internal and external data sources to support business insight, forecasting, AI/GenAI use cases, and future digital products. The role will work closely with GBO stakeholders, BI&T, and DS&A CoE team members to ensure data is structured, reliable, accessible, and fit-for-purpose for analytical and decision-support needs. The position will also help shape data engineering standards, integration patterns, and sustainment approaches for capabilities delivered through the Hyderabad-based team. Key Responsibilities and Major Duties:
• Data Engineering Strategy & Architecture: Support the design of data engineering approaches, integration patterns, and scalable data foundations needed to enable analytics, decision support, and technology-led capabilities across GBO.
• Data Pipeline Build & Sustain: Lead the creation and maintenance of reliable, scalable data pipelines and workflows that connect internal and external data sources for reporting, modelling, scenario analysis, and emerging digital products.
• Data Integration & Single Source of Truth: Help establish integrated and governed data flows that improve consistency, reduce fragmentation, and strengthen the availability of trusted data for downstream use cases.
• Analytics & Product Enablement: Partner with DS CoE, GBO stakeholders, and BI&T to ensure analytical solutions and innovation use cases are supported by the right data architecture, engineering practices, and run support.
• Governance, Quality & Controls: Ensure strong data quality, lineage, access, and governance practices are embedded into solutions, with clear mechanisms for monitoring, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
• Operating Model & Ways of Working: Support engagement models across GBO, BI&T, and external partners for discovery, build, deployment, and sustainment of data-enabled capabilities.
Educational Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master's degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred
Required Skill Set
• 3+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, BI/data platforms, or technology roles
• Experience of working on enterprise data integration, pipeline development, or scalable analytical data solutions
• Experience partnering with business, analytics, and technology teams in cross-functional environments preferred
• Strong experience in data engineering, data integration, and building scalable pipelines across structured and semi-structured data sources
• Strong understanding of data quality, metadata, lineage, and governance principles
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms, data lake / warehouse concepts, ETL / ELT patterns, and analytics enablement
• Ability to translate business and analytical needs into scalable data solutions
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving capabilities
• Familiarity with SAP, SAP BI, Hyperion related software applications, and enterprise data / analytics environments
• Exposure to cloud platforms, data engineering tools, and pipeline orchestration tools preferred
