The GBO Advanced Capabilities COE Manager II – Data Engineering forms part of the core execution group supporting the design, build, and sustainment of data engineering capabilities required for analytics, decision support, and digital enablement across GBO. This role will help create, maintain, and enhance data pipelines, integration workflows, and curated data assets that support reporting, modelling, scenario analysis, and emerging technology use cases.
The role will work in close partnership with the Senior Manager, GBO stakeholders, BI&T, and other DS&A CoE team members to ensure data is reliable, accessible, and fit-for-purpose for analytical and operational needs. The position will also support continuous improvement in data flows, quality, and technical support mechanisms once solutions move into steady state.
Key Responsibilities and Major Duties:
• Data Pipeline Development: Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and workflows that support reporting, analytics, modelling, and decision-support use cases across GBO.
• Data Integration & Preparation: Assist in connecting internal and external data sources, transforming data into usable formats, and supporting the creation of curated datasets for downstream consumption.
• Data Quality & Reliability: Help monitor data quality, troubleshoot issues, and ensure consistency, completeness, and timeliness of data made available for analytical products and business use cases.
• Run Operations & Continuous Improvement: Support post-implementation sustainment of data-enabled capabilities, including issue resolution, performance monitoring, and continuous enhancement of engineering processes.
• Analytics & Decision Support Enablement: Work with DS CoE team members and business stakeholders to ensure the right data structures and engineering support are in place for dashboards, models, and scenario-based analyses.
• Ways of Working: Support collaboration across GBO, BI&T, and partner teams by maintaining documentation, technical handoffs, and agreed standards for data engineering delivery.
Educational Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Analytics, or a related field
• Master's degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred
Required Skill Set
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, BI/data platforms, or technology roles
• Strong experience designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise-scale data pipelines and integration solutions across structured and semi-structured data sources
• Experience leading data engineering workstreams and partnering with business, analytics, and technology teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, data modelling, data quality, metadata management, lineage, and governance principles
• Proficiency with cloud data platforms, data lake/data warehouse architectures, ETL/ELT frameworks, and analytics enablement technologies
• Ability to collaborate effectively with business, analytics, and technology stakeholders
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving, and execution skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
• Familiarity with SAP, SAP BI, Hyperion related software applications, and enterprise data / analytics environments
• Exposure to cloud technologies, data engineering frameworks, integration tools, and pipeline orchestration platforms preferred
