What You’ll Do

We’re seeking an organized, collaborative, and strong writer to support Flatiron’s internal and external communications. This entry-level role will help coordinate content, campaigns, events, and day-to-day communications operations that keep employees informed and strengthen Flatiron’s visibility in the market. In addition you will:

Internal Communications

• Draft and edit internal announcements, newsletters, Slack posts, event invitations, and other employee communications

• Support company-wide meetings, leadership events, and employee engagement initiatives by coordinating content, speakers, timelines, and logistics

• Maintain internal communications calendars and company intranet to help ensure employees receive clear, timely, and consistent information

• Gather updates and stories from teams across Flatiron for use across internal channels

• Track employee engagement and feedback to help the team improve internal communications

External Communications and Content

• Support the development of press releases, blog posts, executive communications, award submissions, media materials, and other external content

• Draft and coordinate social media content across Flatiron’s corporate channels

• Assist with communications campaigns tied to company news, product launches, research publications, partnerships, and industry conferences

• Help translate scientific, technical, and business information into clear and engaging content for different audiences

• Coordinate reviews and approvals with internal stakeholders to ensure content is accurate, timely, and aligned with Flatiron’s voice

• Research relevant industry trends, competitor activity, and potential storytelling opportunities

Media Relations and Monitoring

• Conduct daily media and industry monitoring and share relevant coverage with internal stakeholders

• Maintain media lists, coverage trackers, briefing materials, and other communications resources

• Support proactive and reactive media opportunities by coordinating interview logistics and preparing background materials

• Assist with tracking earned media coverage, share of voice, and campaign results

• Support the Corporate Communications team and external agency partners with media outreach and follow-up

Social Media and Digital Communications

• Help maintain the corporate social media editorial calendar

• Draft, schedule, and publish approved content using social media management tools

• Coordinate basic graphics and visual assets in partnership with Brand and Marketing

• Monitor social engagement and compile regular performance reports

• Identify relevant company, employee, and industry content that Flatiron may want to amplify

Communications Operations

• Maintain project trackers, editorial calendars, distribution lists, and shared documentation

• Coordinate meetings, deadlines, reviews, and approvals across multiple communications initiatives

• Organize communications assets and templates across shared platforms such as Google Drive

• Support vendor onboarding, invoices, contracts, and other administrative processes

• Help maintain communications guidelines, templates, executive biographies, fact sheets, and other core materials

• Provide general coordination support to help the Corporate Communications team operate effectively

Who You Are

You are curious, detail-oriented, and eager to build communications experience within a fast-paced healthcare and technology environment. You will work closely with members of the Corporate Communications team and partners across the business, gaining exposure to internal communications, media relations, social media, executive communications, and scientific storytelling. In addition you have:

• 0–2 years of relevant professional or internship experience in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or a related field

• Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines

• Comfort working collaboratively with colleagues across different functions

• Familiarity with social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn

• Proficiency with Google Workspace or similar productivity tools

• Interest in healthcare, life sciences, technology, or corporate communications

Extra Credit

• Internship or early-career experience in corporate communications, internal communications, public relations, or social media

• Experience drafting content for internal or external audiences

• Familiarity with communications tools such as Sprinklr, Airtable, Canva, or Figma

• Experience supporting events, executive communications, or media monitoring

• Exposure to healthcare, life sciences, oncology, or another complex industry

• Basic understanding of communications measurement and social media analytics
