As Legal Counsel Global Procurement, DD&IT, you will play a critical role in enabling strategic business decisions, advising on high-value commercial transactions, and helping teams navigate complex legal challenges with confidence. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of law, technology, procurement, and innovation while collaborating with stakeholders across the globe. Your primary focus will be supporting global Procurement activities, particularly indirect procurement, while partnering with DD&IT stakeholders on technology-related matters where required.
Job Description Key Responsibilities
• Partner with global Procurement teams as a trusted legal advisor on strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements for goods and services including technology, SaaS, AI and other digital solutions where required.
• Provide practical, risk-based legal guidance on commercial, operational, and governance matters.
• Support global projects and transactions while balancing legal risks with business objectives working independently and in collaboration with legal colleagues across jurisdictions.
• Deliver legal training and awareness sessions to Procurement and digital stakeholders.
• Identify, assess, and manage legal risks across procurement activities and technology-related projects. Assist in the management of disputes, dispute resolution matters and external counsel where appropriate.
• Collaborate across legal, compliance, and business teams to drive successful outcomes including supporting colleagues on cross-border matters requiring Swiss law expertise.
• Contribute to innovation, continuous improvement, and adoption of new legal technologies.
Essential Requirements
• Qualified Swiss lawyer with admission to the Swiss Bar.
• Post-qualification legal experience in a leading law firm or in an in-house role
• Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts combined with a pragmatic, and strong solution-oriented approach.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Proven ability to provide practical, solution-focused legal advice in complex business environments.
• Experience advising on topics like SaaS, IT and artificial intelligence

Expected Annual Base Salary Range for role: 126.000 - 234.000 CHF
The base salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies and experience in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically.
