• To maximize Amgen's value propositions through first-class medical and scientific projects, services and expertise, with key scientific customers within a therapeutic area

• To implement scientific programs in local territories in collaboration with external/internal customers

• To lead the medical projects including evidence generation activities, large medical events and publication, in order to contribute to the whole Amgen Bone business.

• To be the key member in the brand team and develop product strategy with local commercial team.

Key responsibility

• To identify, develop and maintain collaborative relationships with current and future scientific experts, cooperative study groups

• To discuss scientific value messages, clinical outcome and patient benefits with scientific experts and opinion leaders

• To work with Medical and relevant internal colleagues to create engagement plan for external experts

• To provide insights from field activity and contribute to local medical and brand strategy activities for the product(s) in accordance with internal and external regulations

• To identifies new research opportunities and provide support for Investigator Sponsored Studies (ISS) and Amgen Sponsored Trials, when necessary

• To ensures society engagement: MSL support of international and regional congresses

• To implements and disseminates high quality medical and scientific educational programs as well as managing the medical events to achieve those objectives, not only providing logistic supports.

• To support local operation of clinical trials in collaboration with cross-functional development team.

• To communicate with medical and other relevant organizations of alliance partners and maximize the value of collaboration.

• Participates in/conducts Local Advisory Board Meetings, Investigator Meetings and/or Expert Panels

Basic Qualifications Selection Criteria (minimum Qualifications)

• Education history in life-science or relevant area

• Minimum of 2 years in pharmaceutical industry, or proven industry collaboration in academia

• Experience in Medical Department or Clinical Development, or relevant field

• Knowledge in osteoporosis, orthopedics, other metabolic bone diseases

• Good communication/negotiation skills with scientific experts and internal stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications Preferred Requirements

• Advanced degree (Master, PhD, MD or PharmD) is strongly preferred

• Experience in the field of orthopedics at a medical device company

• Experience with medical / scientific study management or conduct

• Knowledge of pharmaceutical product development, product lifecycle and commercialization process with advanced understanding of other functions; including, but not limited to, Clinical Operations, Commercial, Regulatory, and Medical Affairs

• Knowledge of clinical research and messaging (study design, study evaluation, medical writing skills, expert panel conduct, symposium and workshop management, KOL management)

• Network of customer contacts in therapeutic area

• Capability of office works and project managements

Competencies

• Medical/scientific expertise and business acumen, with strong customer-orientation

• Native level in Japanese, and business level in English

• Strong communication and presentation skills

• Continuously expanding medical and scientific knowledge as well as market knowledge

• Ability to work in a cross-functional team (e.g., Commercial, Clin Development, EU teams, HE, Regulatory, Safety, etc.)
