Join Bayer’s Global Public Affairs team and work at the heart of one of the world’s leading science companies towards our mission of ‘Health for all. Hunger for none’. As an Intern in the Global Public Affairs team at Bayer, you will gain firsthand experience at the intersection of science, business, and policy. Working from Bayer's headquarters in Leverkusen, you will support the team's work across the full public affairs lifecycle.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments across Bayer's key policy areas, including agriculture, health, and sustainability at EU, national, and international levels

• Analysing political developments to help enable Bayer’s business to better respond to political changes

• Support the preparation of position papers, briefings, and materials for engagements of seniors and executives with policymakers, trade associations, and other external stakeholders

• Help maintain and develop stakeholder maps and engagement logs across relevant policy domains

• Support cross-divisional collaboration by ensuring timely dissemination of public affairs intelligence across relevant business units AI Transition

• Support the team in an exciting time of rolling out AI process across the global public affairs organisation

• Develop agents, workflows and skills which specifically address the needs of modern day public affairs professionals

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer’s Global Public Affairs team seeks a motivated and analytically minded student who brings intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in public policy, sustainability, and the life sciences sector. You are proactive, structured in your thinking, and thrive in a dynamic, internationally oriented environment.

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a university degree programme in Political Science, International Relations, Law, Public Policy, Economics, or a related field

• Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to synthesise complex information into clear, concise outputs

• Excellent written and spoken English;

• German language skills are a strong advantage

• High level of reliability, discretion, and attention to detail

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

• Familiar with AI-enabled work and able to integrate AI into most of your tasks

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior internship or academic experience in public affairs, government relations, policy consulting, or a regulatory environment

• Familiarity with EU and international institutions and legislative processes

• Interest in agriculture, health policy, or sustainability regulation
