We are searching for the best talent for Business Excellence Engineer Co-Op to be in Gurabo, PR.
• The Intern / Co-op term is from August to December, 2026.
• Full time requirement (40 hours per week).
Purpose: The Business Excellence Improvement Engineer (COOP) is responsible for driving significant improvements in assigned areas using the best practices and methodologies, such as Lean and Six Sigma. This responsibility encompasses the execution of projects, coaching belts, and contributing to the promotion of a continuous improvement environment and lean culture.
You will be responsible: The incumbent will work in conjunction with operations, support groups, and transactional areas to reduce costs and inventory while creating flow that aligns with customer demand by eliminating non-value-added activities. Additionally, will develop current and future state value stream mapping (VSM) for the assigned areas, prioritize tasks in the job jar, and track the progress of project execution plans.
The role also involves supporting the organization and the Business Excellence group in various initiatives to improve processes through kaizen teams, 6S, dashboards, scorecards, visual aids, standard work, checklists, time studies, and more. The incumbent should possess strong communication skills and the ability to influence others effectively.
Qualifications / Requirements:
• Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, software engineering, technology, or programming, or related fields.
• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, which is reflective of all college coursework.
• Student in at least 3rd year of college with a minimum.
• Student must be enrolled in an accredited institution during the internship period, and the internship assignment should be aligned to the student’s area of study or career interest.
Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
