Key Account Management West & Central Africa
Job Summary:
• Plans and implements sales strategies for specific major accounts, cultivating relationships and identifying opportunities through medium to long-term planning.
• Develops medium to long-range sales plans and prepares strategies to protect, grow, and diversify major accounts while meeting sales targets across the full line of products or combinations of products.
• Establishes and builds strong client relationships over time to ensure continuity and ongoing representation, supported by sales delivery programs and communication with relevant organizational functions and divisions.
• Collaborates with other key account managers and sales management to develop sales strategies, helping to identify target accounts and opportunities within the organization-wide strategy.
• Monitors competitive activity within each account and ensures that appropriate response strategies are formulated and communicated.
Job Purpose:
• Provide best-in-class strategic key account management to Bayer major regional distributors across WCA, with a primary focus on the major accounts.
• Own the commercial relationship
• Drive sales planning, forecasting, commercial negotiations, business reviews and account performance management for assigned accounts.
• Ensure key accounts provide accurate and timely demand, sell-out, inventory and market intelligence data as required by Bayer.
• Build strong business relationships with key decision makers within key accounts organizations to strengthen customer loyalty and Bayer market share.
• Major tasks and responsibilities of the position.
• Develop and implement annual account plans for in line with Bayer WCA commercial strategy.
• Lead regular business reviews with assigned key accounts to track sales performance, forecast accuracy, inventory position, payment discipline and growth opportunities.
• Build monthly and rolling forecasts per customer and country, in collaboration with Sales Effectiveness & Planning, Supply Chain and Customer Experience teams.
• Lead commercial negotiations with assigned accounts, including pricing, target setting, rebate mechanisms, market funding within approved governance.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain and Customer Experience to secure product availability, delivery updates and customer service execution.
• Monitor sell-in, sell-out, channel inventory and market demand information to anticipate business risks and define corrective actions.
• Support product launches, customer campaigns and channel capability-building activities with strategic accounts.
• Ensure distribution agreement terms are adhered to and contracts are updated in partnership with Legal and Compliance.
• Provide consolidated reporting on key account performance and key risks to the Customer Facing Squad Lead.

Skills, experience, and qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Marketing, Business Administration or a relevant agricultural qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of commercial, sales or key account management experience, preferably in agriculture or crop protection / seeds business.
• Proven experience managing complex customers
• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation capability and ability to manage customer stakeholders.
• Strong forecasting, planning and analytical skills, with ability to translate customer data into business actions.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and countries
• Good Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Fluent in French and English, written and verbal.
