Who We Need
• Truveta is rapidly building a talented and diverse engineering team to solve complex healthcare and technology challenges. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep experience developing, maintaining, and operating cloud-native infrastructure services. This role is ideal for an experienced infrastructure-focused engineer who is proficient with open-source platform technologies such as Kubernetes, Conductor, Istio, Kong, and related cloud-native tools. You will help design, build, and operate the infrastructure services that power Truveta’s healthcare data platform on Microsoft Azure.
• As a senior engineer, you will help shape technical direction, drive engineering and operational best practices, mentor other engineers, and improve the reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability of Truveta’s infrastructure services.

• In this role, you will lead the design, development, deployment, and operation of cloud-native infrastructure services that support Truveta’s platform. You will work across container orchestration, service mesh, API gateway infrastructure, workflow orchestration, platform automation, observability, reliability, and security in Azure-based environments.
• This opportunity requires strong software engineering fundamentals, hands-on infrastructure expertise, technical leadership, creative problem solving, and proficiency with modern open-source cloud-native technologies.
What You’ll Do
• Lead the design, development, maintenance, and operation of cloud-native infrastructure services for Truveta’s healthcare data platform.
• Build and operate Kubernetes-based infrastructure that supports scalable, secure, and reliable production workloads.
• Develop platform capabilities using open-source technologies such as Kubernetes, Conductor, Istio, Kong, and related cloud-native tools.
• Design and operate infrastructure services on Microsoft Azure.
• Drive automation, tooling, and operational improvements that increase engineering velocity and platform reliability.
• Improve observability through structured logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, alerting, and service health monitoring.
• Lead troubleshooting, incident response, root-cause analysis, and production issue resolution for infrastructure services.
• Partner with product engineers, security teams, architects, and engineering leaders to deliver reliable platform capabilities.
• Make sound technical decisions that balance scalability, performance, security, reliability, maintainability, and delivery speed.
• Write clean, maintainable code and configuration for infrastructure services, automation, and platform tooling.
• Establish and improve operational practices, deployment guidance, runbooks, and engineering standards.
• Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance, and help build team expertise in Azure and open-source infrastructure technologies.
• Evaluate and adopt open-source technologies where they improve Truveta’s platform capabilities.
Key Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or cloud engineering experience.
• Significant experience developing, maintaining, and operating production infrastructure or platform services.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native infrastructure.
• Experience with open-source infrastructure technologies such as service mesh, API gateways, workflow orchestration, or container orchestration platforms.
• Experience managing infrastructure and platform services on Microsoft Azure.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, automation, infrastructure as code, GitOps, monitoring, and operational best practices.
• Solid understanding of networking, security, identity, access control, and distributed systems concepts.
• Experience troubleshooting complex production issues across infrastructure, services, networking, data stores, and distributed systems.
• Ability to lead technical discussions, influence infrastructure design decisions, and mentor other engineers.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver reliable infrastructure in a fast-moving engineering environment.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Deep hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure and Azure services.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, Istio, Kong, Conductor, or similar open-source platform technologies.
• Experience developing automation or tooling using C#, .NET, Go, Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, deployment automation, GitOps, and CI/CD systems.
• Experience with observability tools and practices, including logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and service health monitoring.
• Experience operating high-scale production infrastructure and participating in on-call support.
• Experience contributing to open-source projects or committing to open-source repositories.
• Experience with large-scale data platforms, distributed systems, analytics platforms, healthcare platforms, or regulated environments.
• Interest in building reliable infrastructure that improves healthcare outcomes and helps save lives with data.
