The Opportunity:
The Director of Global Named Patient Access Strategy & Operations will lead the strategy, design, implementation, and operation of global charged-for named patient access initiatives for Revolution Medicines (“RevMed”). This role plays a key role in facilitating compliant paid access to Revolution Medicines’ investigational therapies through authorized physician-initiated individual patient importation requests in advance of local market authorization.
This role will report to the Executive Director – Pancreatic Cancers in the Global Commercialization Development organization and play an integral role in our commitment to supporting appropriate patient access to medicines. This position is based out of our headquarters in Redwood City, CA (remote).
Responsibilities include:
• Develop an overarching global named patient access strategic approach to enable authorized and compliant supply of RevMed medicines through existing country-specific individual importation routes.
• Design and implement new named patient access initiatives globally to address patient unmet need.
• Lead and oversee the operation of new and existing initiatives, liaising internally across Supply Chain, Medical Affairs, Quality, Patient Safety, Finance, Regulatory, Legal, and Information Systems and externally with vendors to facilitate physician acquisition on behalf of patients.
• Partner with Medical Affairs, RevMed regional teams, legal and compliance to ensure clear distinction from other patient access initiatives considered or implemented.
• Lead quarterly business reviews in partnership with vendors and key RevMed stakeholders to ensure program objectives and service level agreements are met.
• Secure governance approval of potential new initiatives considered.
• Supervise the orderly closure of territories and of initiatives as products achieve local regulatory approval and reimbursement.
• Build policies, SOPs, and frameworks to ensure adherence to global SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Manage budget, forecasting, and drive operational excellence.
Required Skills, Experience and Education:
The successful candidate will be a highly organized, proactive, resourceful, self-motivated individual with a roll-up-the-sleeves mentality and a strong sense of urgency. They should possess a proven track record of setting, driving, and delivering on objectives and projects, and have demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate with others.
• Bachelor degree in a healthcare field with advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive commercial or medical affairs experience in a biotech/pharmaceutical company required.
• Demonstrated track record in designing, implementing, and operationalizing global early access programs.
• Keen attention to detail and ability to manage the day-to-day operations of early access programs (or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of key regulatory pathways and considerations.
• Proven ability to think strategically and innovatively to solve business critical issues, delivering high-quality outcomes.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrix environment and influence across an organization at all levels without direct authority.
• Excellent organizational savvy with willingness and ability to work independently, think creatively, and shift gears depending on changing priorities and deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a smaller, rapidly growing company.
• Strong understanding of the oncology ecosystem and experience with global product launches including support of launch planning.
• Ability to represent Revolution Medicines externally with professionalism and credibility.
