Director, Commercial Technology Solutions, DHH India Hub Job Description This role sits within the Commercial Technology Solutions (CTS) vertical of Digital Human Health (DHH), India Hub. The CTS organization is the engineering backbone of DHH, responsible for building a modern, predictable, and scalable ecosystem that enables our commercial business. This leader will play a key role in overseeing the work of our delivery and engineering teams across key commercial capability areas, working in close partnership with global CTS functional engineering leads. Comfortably navigating a global matrix organization, they will be a key responsible leader to ensure our teams have the skills, culture, and processes to support the scale and operations of critical commercial technologies. Crucially, this includes ensuring that co-located Hyderabad delivery teams execute to the precise quality standards, architectural guidelines, and delivery schedules defined by functional leads & product managers. The Director, Commercial Technology Solutions, based in our Hyderabad Technology Centre, will be a pivotal leader in our transformation towards a capability-aligned engineering organization. This individual will drive the modernization of our technology stack, foster a culture of reuse and scalability, and lead high-performing teams to deliver robust and innovative solutions. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong leadership to reduce complexity, eliminate technical debt, and establish clear, predictable delivery rhythms that create better outcomes for our markets. This role will report to the DHH India Hub leader and will be a member of the DHH India Hub Delivery Leadership Team & part of the DHH CTS leadership team. Key Responsibilities · Engineering & Delivery Excellence: · Oversee a capability-aligned engineering organization, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reusable technology solutions. · Collaborate seamlessly across a matrixed structure to align local delivery execution with the strategic direction, timelines, and technical standards established by functional engineering leads. · Drive the modernization and standardization of the commercial digital backbone, including key platforms like CRM and digital asset management. · Establish predictable delivery rhythms and clear ways of working (Agile/Scrum) to ensure timely and efficient execution of the product roadmap. · Support the implementation of rigorous release management and comprehensive testing frameworks to ensure seamless, high-quality, and secure software deployments. · Oversee scaled product operations, ensuring that critical commercial technologies are reliable, performant, continuously optimized, and supported efficiently in production. · Lead the strategy for focused modernization and the reduction of technical debt across the commercial technology landscape.

Strategic & Architectural Leadership: · Provide strong platform and architecture leadership, championing the development and adoption of shared platforms and reusable components to reduce duplication and complexity. · Partner with product and business leaders to translate strategic priorities into a clear technology roadmap and vision. · Ensure technology solutions are designed for scale, security, and operational resiliency, with a commitment to privacy, ethics, and compliance by design. · Drive a digital-first mindset, simplifying and standardizing workflows and processes through technology and automation.

Team Leadership & Talent Development: · Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering organization, fostering a culture of innovation, technical growth, accountability, and continuous improvement. · Champion talent development through focused training, upskilling, and structured career pathing to build a team with the skills needed for the future. · Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment, building cross-functional team networks to solve complex challenges. · Manage resource and capacity planning, ensuring flexible capacity that can align with shifting business priorities.

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration: · Act as a key technology partner to senior stakeholders and functional leads across the commercial organization, translating business needs into robust technical solutions within a highly matrixed environment. · Partner closely with value teams to ensure technology initiatives directly drive measurable business outcomes, and collaborate seamlessly with enterprise IT teams to align on corporate architecture, infrastructure, and security standards. · Manage engagements with key technology partners and vendors, ensuring they meet our standards for quality and performance. · Promote strong collaboration between engineering teams and other functions within DHH to ensure seamless integration and alignment. Required Experience and Skills: · Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. · Experience: · 10+ years of experience in software engineering, technology leadership, or solutions architecture, preferably within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry. · 5+ years of people leadership experience, with a proven track record of managing and scaling dynamic, high-performing engineering teams, including leading other leaders. · Skills: · Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of modern software engineering practices, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Salesforce, Veeva), data ecosystems (e.g., Databricks), and enterprise-scale commercial technologies (e.g., CRM, Digital Asset Management). · Strategic Leadership: Demonstrated success in leading technology transformation, driving architectural strategy, and reducing technical debt in a large organization. · Stakeholder Influence: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and align senior business and technology stakeholders, demonstrating a high degree of comfort and effectiveness working in a complex, matrixed global organization. · Agile & Delivery Management: Proven experience in implementing and managing agile delivery models to ensure predictable and high-quality outcomes. · Operational Excellence: Strong background in release management, test automation strategies, and managing scaled product operations for enterprise applications. · Talent Development: A passion for building and developing talent, with proven success in coaching, mentoring, and creating an inclusive, high-performance team culture. · Business Acumen: Strong understanding of commercial business processes within the life sciences industry and the ability to connect technology solutions to business value.
