ROLE SUMMARY Lead government relations activities to establish positive relationships with elected officials and civil servants in the ministries and respective subsidiaries for the purpose of the development of co-operatives and mutual with Pfizer

• ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement strategies to profile Pfizer and the co-operative/mutual model to secure funding and enable policy development and federal legislation (pro-policy) to support co-operative development and growth for innovative medicines (pro-innovation)

• Develop and execute public policy advocacy plan that targets key issues and government challenges for the business in alignment

• Initiate and lead strategic stakeholder engagement plan in positioning Pfizer’s efforts through alignment and complementing with internal taskforce and external stakeholders to shape public policy positions and strategies

• Identify optimal strategies to engage external stakeholders on public policy input, national healthcare campaigns and government legislations

• Strengthen the company's relationships with key government policy makers and policy advocates at the state and federal government levels and with the coalitions/trade associations/societies

• Work with appropriate trade and industry associations, consultants, think tanks, vendors and patient advocacy group to drive pro-policy and pro-innovation in influencing decisions impacting access to medicines

• Manage milestones on government approvals through effective relationship management with government and regulatory bodies by collaborating with cross-functional teams on projects, legal, issue management and business development; work with external partners and other key project management efforts

• Represent Pfizer at coalitions/trade associations/societies, where Pfizer is a member at coalition meetings, partner meetings and briefings

• Track and monitor federal legislation and regulation and independently analyze the impact on business including the identification of opportunities and risks; and effectively communicate to support business strategies and tactical plans.

• Demonstrate leadership through influence by building strong collaborative relationships with other co-operative organizations and senior government officials in relevant federal government departments

• Able to interact and communicate with a variety of stakeholders (associations, academics, government, media) and the ability to respond to stakeholder needs (strategically and tactfully) as well as exercise leadership and diplomacy amongst diverse perspectives and priorities

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, superior verbal and written capabilities with commendable presentation skill

• Demonstrate ability to work within deadline pressures and manage multiple simultaneous projects

• Ensure compliance with all Pfizer policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

• Possess at least 10 years’ experience in healthcare industry, including 5 years commercial

• experiences

• Commercial experience in at least 2 functions where it can be mixture of either sales, marketing, key account management and market access

• Have at least 4-year experience in policy or corporate affairs or government relations with proven track record

• Ability to strategise policy requirements from business priorities.

• A minimum bachelor’s degree in any science related background

• Additional qualification in public health or political science or public policy is an added advantage

• Sound understanding of government inter-ministerial policies and regulations

• Strong communication and presentation skills.
