Who we are:
Kymera is a clinical-stage biotechnology company pioneering the field of targeted protein degradation (TPD) to develop medicines that address critical health problems and have the potential to dramatically improve patients’ lives. Kymera is deploying TPD to address disease targets and pathways inaccessible with conventional therapeutics. Having advanced the first degrader into the clinic for immunological diseases, Kymera is focused on building an industry-leading pipeline of oral small molecule degraders to provide a new generation of convenient, highly effective therapies for patients with these conditions. Founded in 2016, Kymera has been recognized as one of Boston’s top workplaces for the past several years. For more information about our science, pipeline and people, please visit www.kymeratx.com or follow us on X (formerly Twitter) or LinkedIn.
How we work:
• PIONEER: We are courageous, resilient and rigorous in our mission to improve patients’ lives through our revolutionary degrader medicines.
• COLLABORATE: We value trust + transparency from everyone. Our goals are shared, our decisions data-driven and our camaraderie genuine.
• BELONG: We recognize our differences, inviting curiosity and inclusivity, so that our people are valued, seen, and heard.
How you’ll make an impact:
• Lead and grow Kymera's PBPK/PBBM capability, defining workflows, standards, best practices, and software strategy.
• Apply translational PBPK/PBBM to predict human PK and oral bioavailability across species, formulations, and dose levels, and to support first-in-human dose selection.
• Partner with CMC to support formulation selection and optimization through PBBM.
• Develop IVIVC and mechanistic in vitro-in vivo dissolution models (e.g., DDDPlus) to link drug product performance to in vivo behavior, establish clinically relevant specifications, and support formulation bridging.
• Apply PBPK to clinical pharmacology questions such as drug-drug interactions, food effects, special populations (pediatrics and organ impairment) to inform clinical study design and dose adjustments.
• Embed within multidisciplinary project teams to provide real-time study-design support and rapid model iteration as new data emerge.
• Liaise with collaboration partners and CROs to generate data and analyses.
• Represent DMPK perspective on project teams as portfolio needs require.
• Prepare reports and summary documents to support regulatory submissions and respond independently to health authority questions.
Skills and experience you’ll bring:
• PhD or PharmD (or equivalent) in pharmaceutical sciences, DMPK, pharmacokinetics, chemical/biomedical engineering, or a related field, with 7+ years of hands-on PBPK/PBBM experience.
• Deep understanding of ADME/DMPK and biopharmaceutics principles.
• Significant hands-on GastroPlus experience (required), with a demonstrated ability to manage and deliver modeling work independently.
• Proven ability to build mechanistic absorption and whole-body PBPK models, translate preclinical data into human PK predictions for oral small molecules, and deliver practical, timely, and impactful recommendations to advance programs.
• Experience modeling oral molecules with challenging developability profiles, including poorly soluble and/or permeable compounds and beyond-rule-of-five modalities such as targeted protein degraders (preferred).
• Proficiency in scripting for data handling, workflow automation, and model QC (e.g., R, Python, or MATLAB).
• Simcyp modeling experience (preferred).
• Track record of PBPK/PBBM contributions to regulatory submissions such as IND, NDA, DDI, or biopharmaceutics packages (preferred).
• DMPK project representative experience (strongly preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities (required).
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with specialist and non-specialist stakeholders, including leadership and project management (required).
