Position Overview:

As the AI Strategy & Transformation Lead for China, you will own the end-to-end AI strategic planning, business empowerment and organizational transformation of the China business, fully aligning local initiatives with the corporate global AI enterprise framework, governance standards and technical roadmaps. This executive role bridges global AI capability systems and China’s unique business scenarios, regulatory environment and employee working culture. Beyond technical and project delivery, you will drive company-wide behavioral shift, mindset upgrade and AI-native ways of working across GCO to scale AI from isolated pilots to enterprise-wide value-driven adoption, and accelerate the digital and intelligent transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. AI Strategy & Development, End-to-End Business Empowerment & Value Delivery

• Lead the identification, prioritization and implementation of high-impact AI use cases.

• Partner closely with China BU leaders, functional heads and senior stakeholders to translate business pain points and growth goals into actionable AI transformation projects, define clear KPIs on efficiency improvement, cost optimization, revenue growth and decision accuracy.

• Establish a standardized AI value assessment system, track project ROI, phase-in benefits and long-term business impact, ensure AI transformation delivers tangible, sustainable commercial and operational value rather than pure technical implementation.

2. Organizational Transformation & Employee Behavioral Adoption

• Drive company-wide AI mindset shift, behavioral transformation and capability building among China employee groups, break traditional working inertia and functional silos, cultivate an AI-native organizational culture.

• Design and execute tiered AI upskilling systems: customized training and enablement programs for senior leadership, middle management and frontline employees respectively, covering AI literacy, tool application, scenario thinking and compliant usage.

• Build a cross-functional AI champion network across China teams, empower internal change agents to drive grassroots adoption, standardize AI working workflows, and embed AI tools and methodologies into daily business operations.

• Resist “pilot-only” phenomenon, formulate scalable promotion mechanisms, solve employee resistance to change and low tool adoption issues, realize systematic, normalized and large-scale AI application across the organization.

3. Global Alignment & Local Strategic Localization

• Deeply interpret and implement the global AI enterprise strategy, unified technical architecture, data governance standards, compliance protocols and ethical AI framework, ensure all China AI initiatives are fully compliant with global blueprint, avoid siloed development and inconsistent standards.

• Localize AI methodologies, toolkits and reusable modules to adapt to China’s business characteristics, local regulatory requirements, data security laws and industry supervision rules, form a globally consistent yet China-tailored AI transformation roadmap and annual work plan.

• Regularly synchronize progress, risks and best practices with global AI headquarters, feed China’s high-value use cases and localized experience back to the global AI system, support global framework iteration and capability replication across regions.

4. Cross-functional Leadership & Ecosystem Collaboration

• Lead the China AI transformation core team, manage internal cross-functional project teams, coordinate global technical resources and local business resources to ensure smooth delivery of strategic AI initiatives.

• Build and manage external AI technology partnerships, industry consortia and local tech ecosystem resources, benchmark industry best practices of top global pharma AI transformation, continuously optimize local strategy and implementation paths.

• Take charge of high-level stakeholder communication, deliver periodic AI transformation progress reports, strategic reviews and milestone achievements to global leadership and CLT.

Job Requirements

Professional Background & Experience:

• Bachelor degree required; Master or advanced degree in a relevant filed preferred (Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Business Administration, or related disciplines.)

• 10+ years of relevant working experience, with 5+ years leadership experience in AI strategy, digital transformation or enterprise-level AI implementation in top global enterprises.

• Proven track record of aligning regional digital transformation with global enterprise frameworks, with successful experience in scaling AI and Digital projects from pilots to enterprise-wide deployment in large-scale organizations.

• In-depth understanding of pharmaceutical industry and China healthcare regulatory, data compliance and industry ecology.

• Global-local dual thinking: capable of strictly executing global unified AI standards and architecture, meanwhile flexibly localizing strategies to fit China’s business and organizational characteristics.

• Outstanding business acumen: able to translate corporate strategic goals and business demands into high-value AI transformation initiatives and measurable business outcomes.

• Strong organizational change management capability: experienced in driving large-scale team behavioral transformation, culture upgrade and working model iteration in large, mature corporate organizations.

• Systematic thinking on AI governance: familiar with enterprise AI lifecycle management, ethical AI requirements and Sino-foreign data compliance rules, able to balance innovation and risk control.

• Excellent cross-cultural communication, executive leadership and stakeholder management skills, fluent in both written and spoken English and Mandarin.

• Strategic, result-oriented and detail-minded, able to balance long-term strategic layout and short-term business delivery.

• Strong change-driving mindset and resilience, capable of promoting organizational transformation and overcoming internal adoption barriers.

• High ethical standard, strong compliance awareness and corporate responsibility, consistent with global top pharma’s rigorous operational standards.
