We are seeking an Associate Director to join our Insights & Analytics New Products team. The Associate Director, Customer Insights - New Products, will report into the Executive Director, I&A (New Products), within the Commercial Strategy and Insights and Analytics (CSI&A) department. This role will join a high-performing team responsible for supporting Customer Insights activities for Regeneron's portfolio of investigational medicines, from early stage through to registrational stages of development. The role will partner with and serve as a strategic contributor for Commercial and Global Development stakeholders to inform business decisions. The individual will require a strong understanding of how and when to use specific market research methodologies to drive a high-resolution and up-to-date market understanding, to inform commercial strategy and brand planning.

Discover your role:
Lead 1) Support and lead market research plans and individual projects that inform business decisions for a number of Regeneron's investigational medicines 2) In collaboration with New Products CBU team members and the Executive Director, I&A New Products, inform cross-functional team efforts to maximize Insights and Analytics (I&A) investments that align with business priorities and help drive launch excellence
Develop 3) Develop I&A plans that align with strategic imperatives for key investigational medicines, demonstrating an ability to translate insights gaps into key business questions and inform the optimal research approach 4) Ensure I&A activities inform critical decision-points for clinical development and commercial launch readiness, including customer insights, business analytics and competitive intelligence needs 5) Execute robust market research plans to help advance pipeline assets from target product profiles (TPPs) to differentiated market opportunities; contribute to the development of launch analogs to support forecasting activities 6) Create a foundational understanding of the disease state, unmet need, current and future treatments by integrating competitive intelligence, secondary data, market research findings to inform development decisions
Partnership and collaboration 7) Build and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders across the New Products Commercial Business Unit (CBU), CSI&A, Strategic Planning and Global Development; balance project rigor, timelines and ability to influence decisions 8) Manage market research suppliers to design, scope, execute and analyze research results and develop business implications 9) Collaborate with stakeholders, including the New Products CBU, Strategic Planning and Global Development teams, to stay informed on the market landscape and competitive outlook for launch and beyond 10) Collaborate with New Products CBU and CSI&A colleagues to influence data capabilities and lead secondary data analytics, as needed
Execute 11) Demonstrate proficiency in primary research designs and analysis (qualitative and quantitative), and contribute to customized innovative research solutions to address complex strategic business issues 12) Recommend evidence-driven, business-building ideas, while encouraging the use of customer and market insights to inform strategic business decisions 13) Manage all primary research in accordance with internal compliance policies and best practices, with agreed upon preferred vendors 14) Synthesize insights and analyses from a variety of sources (marketing research, competitive intelligence, secondary data) to inform strategic choices and decisions; develop and present findings to business teams and senior management 15) Consolidate and integrate a variety of data and information into actionable and differentiating insights that identify business opportunities and strategies, keeping portfolio implications in mind. 16) Provide summaries of research and insights needed for launch readiness discussions and commercial business review sessions 17) Create compelling presentations that communicate complex insights in a manner that is easily understood and actioned upon
This role requires:
• BA/BS required; MBA/MS preferred
• 8+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech commercial experience (or 6+ years for MBA/MS), in roles of increasing accountability
• Functional expertise in business analytics, HCP/patient insights, primary research methods, analog forecast development and competitive intelligence
• Demonstrated success in using market research to inform and influence important business decisions
• Experience in survey design, data analysis (including secondary data), managing suppliers, presenting results, and recommending courses of action supported by research findings
• Experience in biologic drugs and/or rare disease preferred; pre-launch or early launch experience strongly preferred
• Experience in cross-functional communication and consensus building
• Strong technical understanding of marketing research methodologies and knowledge across multiple research tools
• Strong understanding of data sources and nomenclatures in the product development environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment as it relates to commercialization in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry
• Demonstrated flexibility, leadership potential, influence and emotional intelligence in working across stakeholders
• Experience managing multiple projects concurrently against stringent deadlines in a fast-paced, timeline-driven environment
• Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking ability
• Concise and impactful written and verbal communication skills
• Expertise in data visualization and data storytelling of market research findings
